Starting as a low budget comedy interview show spoofing the public access interview programs of the 1980s and 1990s, Between Two Ferns somehow became a show popular enough to warrant guest appearances from mega stars like Brad Pitt and Justin Bieber and even politicians like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, all of them willing to put up with the zany weirdness, off kilter humor and often stinging barbs and insults from host Zach Galifianakis.
I bet those Hangover movies really helped them get some of these bookings. And not only did a recent episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee end up as a crossover episode of Between Two Ferns, but now we have a full on Between Two Ferns based movie in the Netflix original release known as Between Two Ferns: the Movie, in which Zach Galifianakis will interview people in his traditional two ferns set up but will also take to the streets to the interview people and do other things as well.
Don’t expect too much of a plot or story or even things really too well thought out because Between Two Ferns has always been about the improving and finding things in the weird moments of an awkward interview and surely the movie will deliver on even that threadbare premise.

Ryan Murphy has been making money for a few years now just cranking out television hit after television hit, bringing weekly jukebox musicals to the masses with Glee and then giving everyone a different horror story to obsess over with American Horror Story, as well as helping America get re-obsessed with the trial of the 20th century via The People vs. OJ Simpson.
Ryan Murphy recently signed a mega deal with Netflix to start producing shows for them exclusively, and The Politician is the first of this new bunch. Featuring a Broadway star as a high school student running for student body president and including people like Gwenyth Paltrow, Jessica Lange and Zoey Deutch, it is very possible that Ryan Murphy could have another huge hit on his hands and Netflix can have another original series that would compel people to sign up for their services.
How else do you stand out in a packed field full of enticing titles?
You pay a ton of money to work with the hottest people possible.
And Ryan Murphy is about as hot as it gets.
